1. Local-First Design

  • On-device only: All files, indexes, metadata, and searches are processed and stored locally on your computer.
  • No cloud storage: We do not upload, store, or transmit your data to our servers.
  • No tracking: Kalycs does not include analytics or advertising trackers.

2. Paid Tier Only

  • Kalycs is a paid product with a one-time or subscription purchase.
  • We do not offer a free tier, and we do not monetize through data collection.

3. Optional AI Integrations

  • By default, Kalycs works completely offline.
  • If you choose to enable AI-powered features, text you select may be processed by OpenAI or another AI provider you configure with your own API key.
  • We do not store or log this data. Requests are sent securely and handled according to the provider’s terms and privacy policy.

4. GDPR & CCPA Rights

Even though Kalycs itself does not retain your data, if you purchase the app or contact us, we may process limited personal information (such as your email for support and payment details via app stores).

You have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of any personal information we hold.
  • Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your personal information.
  • Right to Restrict Processing: Limit how your data is used.
  • Right to Data Portability: Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale (CCPA): We do not sell personal data.

5. Payments

  • Purchases are processed through third-party app stores (Apple App Store, Microsoft Store).
  • We do not directly collect or store your payment card information.
  • Please refer to the app store provider’s privacy policy for payment handling.

6. Children’s Privacy

  • Kalycs is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information (e.g., through an app store purchase or support request), please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product, legal, or regulatory changes. Updates will be posted on our website with the revised date.
